Camillus Question-

Post by DMLEATH »

Good evening! I have this Camillus and I wanted to make sure it is not a fake. I can’t find this tang stamp. Says made in the USA. Is this a knife made after the bankruptcy in 2007? Thanks for any input

I am not an expert, but it looks legit to me.
The pivot pins remind me very much of a Buck pocket knife, and I see nothing that remotely looks like an import. Perhaps Camillus contracted out some in their last few years?

Looks as if they are selling a similar knife with that tang stamp and saying it made in the 1980's or 90's.

Parts bin special they made close to the end in '06-'07 to use up old parts. Whatever tang stamp was on there originally was shaved off and replaced with an etched marking.

I have this Remington that was confirmed by Vit to be a similar parts bin special from the same time period. Doesn't technically exist in any catalog.

That makes a lot of sense. They are also selling a Camillus with Western blades. These are the Culpepper people. Wonder what makes them think they were 1980's - 90's ?
