Integral bolsters and liners.

Hello everyone
Looking for some detail on HOW to mill the liners to create integral bolsters. Pictures sketches print copies.
Any and all wood b very very helpful snd appreciated. Yes i know there ate some for sale between 900-1500$. But retired and only working on knives as a hobby just this seems extreme for me. But i am a retired tool maker so a print or sketch wood b very useful to me. Thanks.

I am assuming the $900-$1500 you mention is the price of a small mill/drill that would do this job. Depends on how many you would do to justify the cost. I have and have seen others on the web doing light duty milling on a drill press with a 2 axis vise which is a manually operated unit. If you peruse the Grizzly tools website, they have vises like that.

Not entirely sure what you're looking for.

Start with a piece of bar stock, mill away the excess. slap on some scales?

No mill? rough out the scale recesses with a die grinder and clean up with files?

If you're looking for examples, all the current production Buck 300 series knives are made this way.
