Help identifying "MAGIC" TANG STAMP ON VINTAGEW KNIFE

Post by M Dunn »

I Recently received this knife in an interesting group of knives from an estate sale.

No idea who the maker is. The only reference that i can find to "MAGIC" in the GOINS' ENCYCLOPEDIA of CUTLERY MARKINGS says it is a trademark used by THE EAGLE PENCIL COMPANY.

i have been told that the "MAGIC" from the EAGLE PENCIL COMPANY does not refer to this knife.

Any help with identifying this knife will be appreciated.

Solid well constructed vintage knife. Strong snap closing. tapered blade. Wood scales.

Pictures attached.

All I can say is, it looks like a tool kit knife.

I agree that it looks like a tool kit knife. It reminds me of some good German made toolkit knives, though so far I cannot find any information on that tang stamp.
I am only guessing though.
