Recognize This Tang Stamp?

Post by Paladin »

Here are some photos of an Italian folding stiletto with a Damascus blade. There is a close up of the tang and it shows a birds head (eagle?) followed by a makers name. There is nothing on the pile side of the tang. It is a handsome knife but I don't have a clue as to the maker.
If this looks familiar I'd appreciate any info.

I can't nail it down perfectly, Ray, but "Kissing Crane" is coming to mind, and the etch might be "Falcon"
"Italy"? ::shrug::

It is a handsome knife and it does look very much like many of the Kissing Cranes but the stamp doesn't seem to fit and there is no KC Logo.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Falcon: This is one jumbled up listing. Look at who the seller is and then buy from an experienced eBay seller.

Falcon it is! Ol' Sporty comes thru. :) I can read the tang stamp on his knife and it is FALCON.
Thank you Bob, so very much. I can't imagine how you managed to find that on the bay but thank you very much.

I searched for Italy + stag + Damascus + knife and went through the results including completed listings. Only a few came up, so it didn't take long. If you use the same search on Google this comes un in an AAPK store. Easy to find once you know what you're looking for - as always.

Thanks! I am not a big fan of Damascus nor do I know a lot about it but this one does seem distinctive to me. ::tu::

That's what I said 5 posts back, "Falcon".
You aren't kidding that is one jumbled up confusing listing, Bob, it's called a "Viper", "Falcon", and "Queen" all in the same listing, yikes!
Sporty strikes again!
