Maki brand, 3 piece Laguiole

Picked up an old, but seemly unused 3 piece Laguiole by Maki. As for as I can figure, this was a small scale manufacturer in Thiers in the later 20th century. The original craftsman passed away in 1997 and the business came under new ownership, but I don't know to what degree the firm kept producing laguioles under the same brand name. Blonde cow horn covers, brass bolsters, stainless blade came nice and sharp.

Forged fly, hand filed decoration is a bit coarse and uneven.

Opposite side has the awl, with its own filework.

Blade and awl are both offset in the closed position in order to accommodate them without making it a two layer knife.

While the blade is centered in the open position, the awl is offset.
