Any info on Falcon Famous? (inbound)

Just won this one this morn, so it will be on it's way soon.
I know there is always the risk that we are bidding against eachother, sorry if it got snagged from one of you but I found it an interesting piece.

I've seen a few references to "Falcon Famous Blades" on the boards, but I am surprised how little info there is on this brand/maker (or if it is related to "Falcon Knives" Brand - thinking no). I see some inference that they may have been intertwined with Kershaw at some point, but thats as much as I have found so far, which just makes it a little more interesting to me. It will probably end up in my Italian collection even though I dont think it was Italian made.

Does anyone one have info or guesses or hunches on this one ? (I havent even tried to date it yet)
Rostfrei on the front, Italy on the back, "Handmade Falcon Famous Blades" on the emblem.

I poked around more and this one seems tricky.
I have found easy examples of the same emblem logo on multiple knives (Falcon head over "Falcon" with "Handmade Famous Blades") , but all with varying tang stamps (and patterns). Some with just rostfrei and blank reverse side, this one with rostfrei and Italy, and just found another - stated to be from japan that has the same emblem logo and a matching tang stamp. So the mystery continues, which I kinda like.

Part of me is thinking to ignore the logo and place the knife with just the rostfrei/italy stamps... not sure that is the way to go yet though.

I don't know that I'll find out much more, maybe over time , so Italian it is. (oh darn, I got what I wanted!)
a Kris blade, substantiated by a Kris, how can I go wrong.

A little update on this one, put a lite polishing on it last night, it cleaned up nicely.
It has great snap and feels really solid, I like that it has stops at 8'oclock and 11 too.
Hard to see in pics, but it has a nice grain to it, thinking it may be ebony wood.

If you want info from Bill DeShivs he will likely see this if it was in the switchblade knife forum. Pretty sure he watches it as he posts replies there often. Not sure the same is true for the general knife forum (this one).

Since I'm too lazy to spend time searching around for an answer , I'm just gonna take this opportunity to ask if you know. And while I'm at it...how in the world do you sharpen a wavy blade like that?

I can sort of answer your questions, ~Q~!
I read somewhere that the kriss blade is to do extra damage when someone gets stabbed with it, how true this is I couldn't say.
There is a definite procedure for sharpening a kriss blade, but having no interest is such things I've never investigated exactly how it's done, I just read about it!

I'm unclear still if "Falcon Famous Blades" is , or is associated to. "Falcon Knives" of Maniago though Kris.
The Falcon Knives story with Campolin is pretty clear, but they use a different logo and name.
I've chased it a little bit to see if I could find any hard association, or if Falcon Famous was used at some time by Falcon Knives, but I haven't found that direct link yet. I might try direct communication with Falcon Knives, that might be fun just for the doing anyway, but if you have more thoughts I be happy to hear em.

Well, I chased a couple of logos. Falcon Knives (Campolin), Falcon Famous Blades (mine), Falcon of Italy (attaching pic)... the last two have more similar logos, and although still a little different they are clearly the same maker - or there was some serious copy-catting going on.

I think someone was just having an identity crisis , could be Falcon Knives is/was behind all of them and branding for different markets.

Thanks again Kris, it seems easy to go off the guardrails on this one, confusing to refer to them (or search for them) as "Falcon Knives", there are so many players.

With this logo, Falcon Knives is out of Alaska. And I wont get started on the Falcon knives of Tennessee, or China, or others I came across.

So that leaves us with "Falcon Knives" of Maniago.
And this story with Campolin (and AKC...), where I do beleive this knive lives - so thank y'all for the help!
