IG Cutler switchblade

Post by bigbird71 »

I have a small switchblade knife blade is 2 1/2in, closed 3 1/2,overall 5 3/4. I'm trying to figure out who makes this knife as it needs spring replaced that opens the knife. On the blade engraved is IG CUTLER ITALY. If anyone has an idea of who this maker is because I can't find any info.

Recommend you post this in the Switchblade Collectors subforum where it will likely be seen by folks that know about them most. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... m.php?f=86. There are a couple of guys there that can probably supply the parts, or make them for you.

I just came across your post BB71, and I'm wondering if your knife ever had bolster "ears" or finger guards? If it did grind marks will likely be present where they were removed, if not they should appear clean and finished. Thx! BTW, ::welcome:: to AAPK! ::handshake:: 8)

EIG sold what are commonly referred to as, Saturday Night Specials, as well.

They were inexpensive revolvers.

My Dad sold a ton of them in the 50’s and 60’s.
