Will you be giving anyone a knife for Christmas?

Our 11 grandchildren are still a bit young for me to gift any of them a knife for Christmas... But my wife did see one arrive here at the house that she wants me to give her for Chrostmas!

Any of you giving a knife as a present to a loved one or co-worker?

I give my brother a knife for Christmas every year.
Since his birthday is December 22, it's a combination birthday and Christmas present.
Been doing it for forty years and hope to continue for many more.

Grandsons always get pocketknives for Christmas and birthdays along with a check from Grandma.

No, my grandchildren have no interest and my great-grandchildren are much too young (they would poke their eye out). I gave each of the great-grandchildren (all boys) a small fixed blade when they were born, to be passed on when their parents feel they are responsible enough to receive them. Sorry to say I'll be gone by the time that time comes.

Already did. My wife’s familyChristmas gathering was this past weekend. Every Christmas for decades they’ve had a gift exchange, one of those where everyone 16 years old or older brings a wrapped gift (guys bring a guy gift, gals bring a gal gift, but they are all unmarked). Everyone draws a number from the hat. Whoever draws number one selects a gift from the pile and opens it. Everyone in order after number one has the option to select and open a gift from the pile, or “steal” a gift that has already been opened. After an item has been stolen twice, it is retired from the game (third “owner” gets to keep it).

Every year I bring a new Case pocket knife. Everyone knows it will be a pocket knife, they just don’t know which package it is but since it’s a smaller package it’s not difficult to guess. This year It was selected originally and opened by one of my nephews (everyone laughingly feigns surprise that I brought a knife ). It was subsequently “stolen” by my son, and to my surprise stolen from him and ended up with one of my sisters-in-law, who says she will carry it in her purse.

Gave my cousin, Fred, an old, Western G-46-6. He's a fixed blade collector. Want to give my #2 grandson a Cub-Scout. He's six and I'll let his parents decide if it's right this year.

I bought this knife for my son but since clean-up and sharpening
I have carried it for about 3 weeks. He is a tool nut ( has his
own tool room in his house) and was going to give it to him
along with a small vise usually used by jewelry makers.

I might still give it to him but maybe I will get him another
Craftsman knife since I like this one so much.

Yep, 1 to each son. Both buck 112s. one with buffalo handles/nickel silver, other is elk stag/brass. both engraved with their name on the blade and Xmas 2022 on bolsters. both finger grooves . Wife got me one for Xmas, Schatt & Morgan worm grove lockback from our own sharp n shiny) and I got myself one as well, a beautiful Winchester with abalone handles swing gard, its a big sucker.

I bought a pretty much unused 34OT for $10 that I then gave as a gift to a family friend already. $10 really doesn't go far in terms of traditional folders that aren't made by Rough Ryder, so I figured it was a steal.

Thank you, he is a good son in law and a great father to their daughter (my granddaughter) we only had the one daughter so we think she did well to marry him.

It looks like "no" for me. I have a good friend that I always exchanged knives with as gifts for Christmas, but this year he asked not to exchange gifts as he has lost most of his income over the past couple of years. He is an actor and most of his work was in commercials.

He is a middle-aged white guy and mainly has played a straight male in advertisements. He says the only jobs he can get these days are few and far between. The only upside is the work is not so hard these days. He says when he finds work all he has to do is look on with a stupid or bewildered look on his face and nod a few times as someone (a doctor, a pharmacist, an insurance agent, a salesperson etc.) explains to him about the medicine or product. But the jobs just aren't there like they used to be...
