Pocket kninfe

Post by Mrar »

Hello

I just bought nice pocket knife, I think it is from Germany.
I was not able to determine the manufacturer or other information.

I would appreciate if you can help me with identifying this knife. Attached is the pictures. Thanks.

The two I have like that are Okapi brand and were made in South Africa. I've seen indications that some were made in Germany. That's all I can tell you.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
You are right. It is similar to Okapi. But different manufacturer or brand!

I have seen like this type of knife before. That is why I seek help of identification.

Your knife is what’s called a Navaja pattern. Originated in Spain or France but since made by several makers in other countries as well. It has what us commonly called a “ring lock” mechanism, common but not exclusive to Navaja style knives. You can find more by doing a search here for ”Navaja”. Search function is found under Quicklinks to the upper left. search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keyw ... =titleonly

Reminded me of a French Laguiole knife.
