Question on Late 60s-70s Case Knives.
Good day! I have these two nice bone handles Case knives. The 6249 has dots but are mostly hidden by the bolster. Is there any way to tell the year? The Canoe has no dots showing but could there be one hidden? I was curious if there are any physical differences between the 1965-1969 Canoes and the 70s. Any help is much appreciated!

The Canoe is definitely a USA. Case started the etched blade on the canoe in 1974, so from 74 to 79 they all had the etch. The only plain blade 70's were 70 to 73 so they would all have some dots visible.

In the 1970s they typically centered the dots under the U.S.A. When all dots are not visible you can sometimes guesstimate the year based on where any visible dots are located. I’d say your copperhead is later than 1970.

Thanks to you all! Good info on the canoe and I agree that the copper head is not early 70s or you would see more dots. I appreciate it!
