CY Schelly
Just did my first rebuild of a straight razor. I’m digging the bee hive rivets. This is a Great Britain blade for CY Schelly out of Allentown.

That looks great. That looks like a rebuild I could handle. I have a few of those razors hanging around from a collection I bought a couple of years ago, that would make a great winter project for me. I like the handle material you used and the beehive rivets.

Nice work, where did you get the rivets from?

Re: CY Schelly
I picked up the scales (acrylic tortoise shell) and the bee hive rivets on Etsy. I also had ordered a package of fine grit sand paper on Amazon. The pack goes from 320 grit to 10000! I hand polished the blade. That pack of sand paper was around 10 bucks. There a couple of Youtube videos showing how to do the rebuild. I think my entire time was about 3-4 hours.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 1:59 am That looks great. That looks like a rebuild I could handle. I like those too. I just noticed ( I may have known and forgot
) that the ones on my custom FJ from Ken Erickson are something like that.
