Irish camp knife

Post by zorrothegreyblade »

Picked this up today from a boot sale, rusted solid, paid 50p (1 dollar), got it home and oiled it, opened it up expecting it be an imperial, only mark on tang is Republic of Ireland! Now I have heard of Irish Imperials, so could this have been made by the company that Imperial took over? ::shrug:: Thanks for looking :D

It's likely worth what you paid for it. I use one in the kitchen to poke holes in large cans.

I'd say Imperial which once owned something called 'Stag Cutlery Co' based in Listowel Ireland. Very similar to knives made by Richards of Sheffield. :) s-k

Hi redfern, johnnie, Steve.
My first thought was Richards when I saw it,but when I picked it up and put my glasses on the handle patern reminded me of Imperial. The blades have a very low carbon footprint, the can opener was in the open position and twisted well out of true, I managed to push it most of the way back with my fingers
