Second chance for an old warrior

Post by Reverand »

I got a chance to work on knives again today for the first time in months. I had fun restoring this old Humason and Beckley. It had a broken secondary blade, and the main had been poorly sharpened on a grinder. The handles look like wood, but they had bug-bites in them. I patched the holes and when I sanded them, the handles are definitely horn. There is nothing else like that smell!

I removed the secondary, reprofiled and cleaned up the Main, and polished things a little.
I can't wait to give this knife some pocket time!

Wonderful job! I have just cleaned up, polished, and sharpened an old Case 2383
probably from 1920. It was a great feeling working on the old knife. It brings
me the most joy in knife collecting.

Purchasing and showing a nice new knife you bought is good but showing a knife
you brought back to a better life is even more satisfying.

Great save Reverand! The work you did on those horn scales and that blade is nothing short of terrific. That HOK will make a fine EDC for you! ::tu:: ::tu::

Beautiful save Rev! ::tu:: Being a big fan of 1 blade knives it doesn't bother me one little bit that you had to remove the smaller blade! Also, you did a fine job of reshaping the main! EDC here we come! 8)
