Colt m16k. Can be opened manually by thumb stud or auto by hidden button. Not sure what they used on the handles on these, but they get a little sticky over time

Very nice P80! I have one under the "Wolverine" brand that operates in the same manner, manually via the thumb-stud or automatically via the hidden button under the front cover. Pretty cool knives! I use to confuse these with "scale-release" models believing they were the same thing, but then I saw examples of both and learned the difference. I like these better!

EDIT: I should have posted these pics originally but I hadn't been to bed yet and I was beat! I don't know anything about changes in production, but this knife came from China and is only marked with an etch of a wolverine over the word "Wolverine"! I also don't know if your knife has this feature, but on mine if you open it manually it stays in manual mode with no tension on the spring until you press the button again and then it goes into auto mode! Pretty cool knives!

I had read that another company took over production but didn't know what brand they were. Thanks for that info

The Colts used to be made in Taiwan but I haven't seen one for years.
