Any info on this little mystery knife?

Post by WadesBlades »

Hi, new to AAPK but have been a knife fanatic for most of my life. I found this little knife in a junk drawer at an estate sale and was wondering if it's really junk or not? It seems really well made with one peice brass bolster/liners that sit proud to the handles and 3 brass pins. I think the handles are plastic. The bail fits well and swings freely. The only stamp I can find anywhere on the blades is a single ominous "U.S.A." which makes me skeptical this is actually made in the USA. Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

Made by Colonial. Inexpensive, probably 1950/60 vintage. Very common, not worth much. Yes, indeed made in U.S.A. Check ebay sold listings for sales of Colonial U.S.A. pen knife if you want to confirm current value. Good steel in those old Colonial blades - put it in your pocket and use it! ::tu::

Cool! Thanks for the info Ken! I've been using it here and there. Cleaned it up a little and put some light oil in the joints.. it snaps nicely. I'll prob hang onto it, i just like knowing what I'm using to open the mail :D
