Assisted opening Thomas Turner & Co

Bit of a mystery to me. Searched through all the Turner catalogues I can find nothing. Never seen another example. Can you guess as to a specific use intended (if at all) for this pattern?

Date wise I wonder would the His Majesty be George or Edward? Something in me reckons George but it's a wild stab.

If you side the ambidextrous button down the blade opens by way of a toothed spine that actuates a correspondingly notched cam on the pivot. Hope that makes sense?
It deploys very snappily once I cleaned and oiled it. The wrap around tortoise appears real and the whole deal is a lovely little package.

Well, that's really a dandy little knife.
There were more than a few Thomas Turners.
Your Thomas Turner & Co. started in 1802 from what I'm reading in Tweedale's Directory.
They had a long run up until 1932 at the depression in Sheffield, England.
It doesn't surprise me that you cant find find your knife. They made an enormous amount of cutlery and other items.
But that is a great little knife you have there.

EDIT: After re-reading your OP ED I see you asked if anyone could suggest a possible use for your knife, and a gentleman's finger-nail cleaning knife came to mind! Also, am I understanding this correctly that when you pull/push the button the blade opens in correspondence with the sliding of the button a notch at a time? Thx!

Thank you for that Miller Bros, I see at least one example that appears very similar if not identical in mechanism used to open the blade as per my knife.

Sorry Marco, managed to miss this post somehow.
Yes that's it exactly. The button is attached to a sliding spine that rotates the blade correspondingly as both are mated together with teeth/notches.
There is close tolerances and some skill in its design and construction imo.
As to its use it is very pointy and ground thin for a sharp edge. The steel is definitely heat treated as is holding a good edge. I think its just a small utility knife?
