Camillus 5733 question

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Was the 5733 pilots knife ever made in Black? Handle and sheath?

Interesting question. I have owned two of these that were black, both sheath and handle. Did not appear to be dyed by the owners. Both were pure military, one was actually attacted to the SRU vest.

Good quesiton for CAMCO to answer for us.

I do know that on the original KaBar USMC fighting knives, the handles were treated with an anti-jungle rot stuff that made them black.
