So, when I was young and dumb, I had a two blade hunter dog head. It was definitely an older knife, was pretty worn, and I used it for everything. It broke, I foolishly threw it away. I regretted it ever since. Now, 30 some years later, I picked up a very nice model 1188 for daily use, but still wanted a dog head.
So, floating around today, I found this lovely on ebay. I pulled the trigger, got it for under $400. I could definitely be wrong, but I believe this is a pre-50s knife. But the stamping, from what I could find in research says from 1925ish to 1945ish.
I would appreciate any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, any statements welcome. This knife will be special occasions and once in awhile deer hunting only....

The Union Cutlery stamp puts it as being pre-1953, when the company officially changed names from Union Cutlery to Kabar Cutlery.

Re: Pulled the Trigger
I have never seen an original Dogs head KA-BAR made after 1942. The jigging on your fine knife makes it a later one, probably 1930s. Sweet example!!
