$5.00 find
3 1/8 rough black handle material. Knife looked unused and uncared for. Also it does not fit the pattern number. Maybe some good Robeson collector can expound on this knife. I don’t think it has been messed with.

Re: $5.00 find
I am not a Robeson collector but i believe the arched stamping is an older marking, perhaps 100 years old ? I'm interested to see what those who really know will say.

Re: $5.00 find
FWIW, the Robeson tang stamp guide says 1917 - 1939. (Whoops, a day late and a $ short… per Randy.)

Re: $5.00 find
The stamp dates it 1917 - 1939, according to Kalcevic’s book.
Had it had “CO.” In the center, it would have been earlier.
Interesting that the pattern number is on the pen blade. That’s unusual.
Just looking at the knife, I thought 319 pattern, but that’s not what I see in the stamped number.
Pressure molded black composition handles, brings it up close to WWII, as the pattern number calls for bone handles. Might well have been made during the war, Kalcevic’s dates are not absolute, in my opinion.
Nice little knife that raises some questions.

Thanks for the reply’s guys. I knew it was a little strange with the number not matching the knife. Wanted to know what y’all thought. Thanks Charlie for your comment. Harold

Any chance that last digit could be a “9” ?

Awesome score!
Here locally, $5 won't even buy a beat to heck el-cheapo. I might get lucky and find a shell handle Providence Cutlery Co., Imperial, or Colonial, but that is, quite often the best I will do. A lot of people seem to have a lot of Frost junk here locally.

Wow! $5.00? That’s grand theft cutlery! I couldn’t have let that one pass either.

Funny little knife has steel bolsters, brass liners brass pins. Interesting little knife. Seem to be as made. A lot of fun trying to figure it out. Harold

Two blade 319s are not the usual for that pattern. By far, the most I’ve seen have been Whittlers.
