Remington C-5 catalog...Reproduction???

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington C-5 catalog...Reproduction???

Post by 98src »

I have attached pictures of a Remington C-5 pocket knife catalog. I have assumed that it is a reproduction although it is not marked as such. does anyone have a price list that would be associated with it?

Nice catalog. I would think someone here would have one. Have you tried taking your question to "Blade Forums" as well. There's a section just for older knives like these. Maybe someone there might have one or know where one could be found?

If original then it is at least 80 years old (Remington knives 1920-1940). Usually 80 year old paper shows it's age by being a bit 'brittle'.

kootenay joe,
Really don't think it is an original because of its condition. No intention to get rid of it since I collect pre 1941 Remington knives. Just checking to see it anyone happened to have a C-5 price list.

I don't have one for the C-5 catalog. I have 2 price guides "jobbers price list" a C18 and a C26. They are hard to find.
