Craftsman 9470

[OLDE CUTLER]

I finally got around to doing a rehandle on this Craftsman 9470 stockman I picked up for cheap. For various reasons I haven't got much done for the past few months. Anyway this Craftsman was made by Schrade and uses the Swinden construction. Removing the rocker pin allowed the knife to slip apart. The original plastic handle material was replaced by new Bloodwood ones. I had not used Bloodwood before, but had a pen blank on hand to try. The Swinden was good and tight and otherwise good shape so it was reassembled the same way it came apart. The knife doesn't look like it has been used or sharpened much, but had a lot of rust and staining on it.

Very classy looking! It reminds me of the Camillus version, except they used brass bolsters. Nice!
