Boker USA question?
I was wondering if someone could help with an approximate date on this Boker USA knife? Was this made by Boker or another company. Thanks in advance for your input!
Knife is 3 5/8” long closed.

Re: Boker USA question?
Not an expert on Boker but guessing early 70"s...from my understanding based on the tree shield it was manufactured prior to 1975, in which the regersterd R symbol was added on
Maybe someone else will jump in and add to or confirm this.
Nice find by the way!

Re: Boker USA question?
If I am not mistaken that looks like Delrin handles, so it would have to be made sometime after 1961 or 1962, something like that. I also get those "early 70's" vibes off of it.
I am no expert, and sometimes Boker USA can be hard to pinpoint an exact date, but I am agreeing with Gone2Three on this one.
Eager to read what the real experts say.

Re: Boker USA question?
Although there have been ownership changes for Boker USA over the years, I don't think anyone ever made knives for them. Corrections welcome. Of course Boker Solingen and Boker Argentina might have sent them some items? Does Boker USA now import anything from China?

I was under the impression that knives marked Boker Plus were probably made in China.tongueriver wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 8:24 pm Although there have been ownership changes for Boker USA over the years, I don't think anyone ever made knives for them. Re: Boker USA question?
I believe you are correct--many knives in both the Böker Plus and their Magnum lines are manufactured in China, at least according to the information on the SMKW website.treefarmer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 2:25 am

And Boker's "tradional series" - where the model number ends in 7xx - are (I read) assembled offshore from German-made parts. They cost about half of what a Solingen-made Boker knife sells for. They announced that Boker Solingen will stop making many traditional styles of pocketknives.
