Cant find a lot about Thornton knives? How long ago was they around? The knife looks old.

THORNTON, JOHNSTON, Both brands manufactured by Federal Knife Co. in Thornton, a district of Johnston, RI. c.1945-1950, Sold to COLONIAL Knife Co.
