Green bone or 2nd cut stag??

I believe that it is second cut stag, dyed and jigged as green bone. Most Case collectors would call it "second cut bone".

What you think Ken ? Because it’s a flat blade not SAB so their is no 2nd cut bone only stag

I have seen and owned plenty of these with flat blades and with those handles. Books never capture all variations, especially variations like second cut handle materials that are "random" manufacturing variants anyway.

The flat ground blade 65's are a mystery to begin with - I have copies of all known Case factory-issued catalogs and price lists from the 1930's on, and all 65 patterns are always listed as SAB never any with flat ground, yet the flat ground do exist in both Tested and XX stamps.

FWIW I agree it looks like jigged second cut stag. Those price guides are useful references but they have their limitations.

This is jigging typical of Tested and XX 65 patterns in green bone. Looks like green bone to me. Variations in true 2nd cut stag are rare.
