Some Special Bulldog Knives

Here are some rather rare Bulldog Salesman Samples. There were 5 sets of 5 knives made in 1998 the FOURTH GENERATION. One extra pattern (4-1/4 inch 3 Blade stockman) was in the 1997 knives making 5 sets of 6 knives in 1997 and the FOURTH generation has the Standing Dog Stamp with the year, so they are easy to tell apart.
The 1998 knives are:

3-3/4 inch Copperhead
4-1/8 inch Trapper (

Trapper is spelled wrong on the 1998 COA)
3-5/8 inch 3 Blade Stockman
3-5/8 inch 4 blade Congress
3-1/2 inch Canoe

All knives have a COA and AAA-1 Pearl and FACTORY engraved or scrolled bolsters. They are a beautiful set.

Here is my 2 1997 Salesman Samples. Trapper is spelled correctly on the 1997 COA.

4-1/4 inch 3 blade Stockman
4-1/8 inch Trapper

All knives have a COA and AAA-1 Pearl and FACTORY engraved or scrolled bolsters.

There were only 40 sets of 4 made in this "Card" series.

These are 1 of 1s. I'll put out the other two later.

Those are real nice Gary, I really enjoy those Scimitar Sowbelies. Those are made on my favorite frame, the 3-3/8 inch frame.

This is a 2 5/8 inch closed 2 blade Pen Knife and has the Standing Dog 1996 tang stamp. The master blade has a fancy Pitbull Trademark etch with Genuine Tortoise engraved on the reverse. This knife with Genuine Tortoise Shell handles and is 1 of 3 Prototypes. The knife scales were originally for J. Primble Belknap knives that were produced in the 1930’s. No more of these knives will be made-ever. This knife comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), verifying that only 3 were ever made.

Genuine Tortoise is real hard to find these days, about $110 for a tiny pen knife.

Ive posted this knife before but were on a Bulldog roll so here it go's again.. Number 1 of the Bulldog 1993 line...No blade etch but engrave in block letters on the back "Bulldog Brand Proto #1"

And here are it's siblings. EACH of the Calf Ropers has Bulldog Brand Proto #2 engraved on the back of the blade. All FIVE are marked as such, identically, in Block Print Letters rather than in Script. All FIVE knives have Rostfrei marked on the tang, with Solingen, Germany.

They are not marked Bulldog. Pretty rare group!

This set was made by August Scheidtmann who was the Master Cutler for Bulldog knives.. I beleieve he was well into his 80's when he retired..This set was the first of the warncliff blades shipped from the factory.. its a Seductress in pearl, Viking in Pearl, Thor in secod cut stag... All are engraved prototype with the knife makes name under it...Nice set...

Guy had a bunch of these at the Middletown NY gunshow a few yrs back.Wish I had enough to buy them all back then.BTW,those LTD's are KILLER.

This knife was put out by the Parker knife company who owns the Bulldog brand.. It was to commerate the 35th anniversary of the Parker Brand..
Its in Gold Lip Pearl and its engraved prototype..Not sure how many were made but not many... Big expensive knife to make..
