When was this Case Bulldog Clasp Made?

Post by The Texas Tank »

I am not familiar with this tang stamping. Can anyone tell me the time period it was made. It is a stag clasp with a bulldog stamped on the blade.

The XX would indicate 1940-1964.

These Bulldogs have always been a mystery to me, the tang stamps and such. I never did study them, it's a pattern I didn't collect.

According to Jim Sargents American Premium Guide to Knives and Razors, 6th. Edition, pg.34, that would be a 3rd. Issue, 1965-69.

Uh-huh....................so they moved the USA around back of the main blade and the pattern number up front on these Bulldogs...............I always thought they stamped them weird!

Thanks for the information.

I think you are correct Griz! I have looked at some on eBay and they seem to match up with this one.
