Knife finish

Post by dudleythetogi »

Is there any picture reference that shows the type of finish that where used on some earlier knives?I can get a high polish lapped on a knife blade but would rather have it correct.
One of my references is another knife from the same manuf.(Schrade)from probobly the same timeframe, but it has a high polish on one side and more of a satin finish on the other.
Thanks
Greg

Alot of the older higher quality knives had a crocus polish on one side of the blade that was to be etched. Usually the other side had a glazed or satin finish.
