Ok I know it's not a Bowie knife but it is a common enough description I thought I would run with it.
It's A Mappin And Webb Stamped for the old factory in Sheffield so 1890's ish
Oh it is next to a Case Elephant toe (for obscure reasons)

Very cool knives! I really love that Mappin & Webb and will have to hunt for one (no pun intended). Of course I love the Case toe knife too, but I have several of them. Thanks for posting!

I would agree that the handles are likely checkered horn.There were some English knives that used a synthetic material that looked for all the world like checkered horn but I think this knife has real horn.
