What Have I Got Here

Here is a lockback that is similar to a Buck 110 or Case Shark Tooth only it's size is in between the two. In the pictures you can see how worn the tang is on one side, but the other with the #4 on it shows no sign of wear and I have no idea how that happened. It opens very smoothly and there is no wobble in the blade. The wood handle inserts are very solid and smooth. The only thing is see for sure is the bottom line of the tang stamp has U.S.A. It looks like the line just above ends in "ork" and just above that I think I see an "LU". Cheryl just came in and said it looks like someone was trying to remove the real maker's stamp so they could put a forged one on it. Is there anyone that would like to take a crack at helping me solve this little mystery of who the real maker could be?

I second that for Camillus. In 1976 they offered a No.4 Lok-Back that measured 4 3/4" with Camwood handles
