Craftsman Knife I've Never Seen Before

Post by Jeffinn »

I've never seen one of these before so when this one went up on the bay I snagged it (sellers pic not mine).
Kinda cool looking but will need some new handles and a bit of cleanup.

Nice snag! Post some pictures when you're done refurbishing it --I can't wait to see what you decide to do with it ..I'm sure it'll be beautiful though! 👍🤝😁

Yeah, it might be.
The finger grip design caught my attention. It’s something a little different. I saw a Schrade Lb7 that was a similar design awhile ago (with the finger grips) but I wasn’t sure if it was a factory design or a Mod. It looked factory but Id never seen one before made by Schrade so I didn’t bid on it.
I’m looking forward to getting this one!

Is there a 5 digit number on it? I have a similar one that does not have the finger grooves in it that appears to be a dead ringer for a Schrade LB7. The number on mine is 95233. Here is a pic of it.

I don’t have it in hand yet but the listing showed it as a “CRAFTSMAN Gunstock 94609 USA Folding KNIFE Soft Grip”

Nice find. I have seen one of those before. The Gunstock models are hard to find. They have a grippy crosshatch texture on the scales with the inlaid shield that says "Soft Grip". I do believe Camillus made them.

Definitely Camillus made, there was a Sears 94608 stockman in that series as well.

Ray, look at the shoulder of the front bolsters. Schrade made 5" LB's (LB7) have a flat area whereas the Camillus made knives the upward curve of the top line continues right to end of bolster. No flat "parking spot" on the top surface of bolster = Camillus.

Nice find Jeff! I'm sure it will look better than new once you have worked your magic on it. Can't wait to see what you do with it! ::nod:: ::super_happy::
