Mysterious Boot-Shaped Knife (Angel S) Depiction

Here's one small 3 inch closed knife I need help to identify....establish an age, country, maker..ect
This little one-bladed knife has what looks to be ivory handles...long boot shaped bolsters...has an Primitive American folk style quality
The tang stamp is the depiction of an Angel behind pushing a capital S...I believe the pins in the handles are iron but can't be sure
I've tried to research this knife but came up empty handed...I would be grateful if anyone could enlighten me.. any and all information

No answer here, but looking at the link David provided I was struck by how relatively complex the tang markings were in comparison to U.S. tangs.
One I found a little similar to the knife in question was by Pack and Sohn.

It is vintage German. I have seen this marking before . When i have time i will try to find it in Anthony Carter's book on German knife makers.

That is a really cool-looking knife!
It makes me think of a German maker as well, with the color of the bolsters and the steel pins.
It looks to be well made, from the pictures.

Thank you!!...The knife is extremely well made...I have researched early boots, folk knives, Early American, the Continental Army,
the Hessian Mercenaries, Hessian cutlery...ect... but come up empty handed on all... I would welcome another subject to research
Hopefully someone will solve the mystery...lol

Stamp was used by C.W.Engels. The cherub with the S was registered in 1894, and possibly re-registered in 1915. Listing is on page 182 of Carter's "German Knife and Sword Makers". He does not say how long the company lasted, but does say that they were represented in New York by F.W.Engels & Co. from 1909 until 1943.

Wow...I can't begin to say how awesome the members were in solving this knife's history...Starting from zero this is amazing!!

Did not take much effort on my part, I just paged through the book until I found the stamp. For anyone who has any interest at all in German knives, Carter's book is invaluable and very easy to use.
