Any Info On This Pointer Brand Skinner???

Post by herbva »

I recently bought this fixed blade skinner on a whim. Very nice, sturdy knife with a thick stag handle that I just couldn't pass up. I really like the knife, but haven't been able to find any information on the brand, maker or approximate age. I did find that there is, or was, a Pointer Products in Montbello, CA, but it looks like they made or dealt in gun parts. I'm wondering of they imported these from Solingen Germany? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Defiantly a Solingen import most likely from the 1960's. There where a lot of these with importer or retailers brands stamped. I've seen at least 10 different ones. Most with this blade profile have Original Buffalo Skinner etched on the blade.

Lots of possibilities, Herb, unless you could find out who the California company imported from;
