Need help to identify these old knives

Post by alfa5069 »

Hi, I recently bought these old knives from a guy who told me they are over 100 years old and from England.

It seems that they are from different manufacturer because I found different tang stamp on them such as : Superior cutlery Sheffield:

Gilles Uxbridge:

and Sam & John kitchen, Sheffield, Soho Cutlery Forks (if I am right):

this is the box:

Does anyone have any clue of these knives or brands?

Thank you for your help.

I do not collect vintage Table/Kitchen cutlery so i am not familiar with those names. Could be merchant names, not manufacturers ?
They are old, definitely vintage Sheffield. Might have been in a dishwasher ?
There are a great many Carving Sets on ebay. About 60 and more years ago most households had a carving set and now only a few people cook something that needs carving. Not many people collect them so prices tend to be low except for a few obviously high end pieces with great Stag and lots of silver, or big pieces of ivory. There are some very fine 100+ yr old stag Carving sets that can be bought for ~ $25-$30.
