3254 XX mammoth

Post by Winchester M21 »

Bought this without any handles on it. Never used or sharpened. Put blue mammoth ivory on it. Probably gonna sell it.

Very nice job on the handles!

Love it!

I always have a hard time when working with mammoth. Not that it's difficult to work with, but I have a hard time living with the variations in the material, divots, and craters that are natural. The mechanic in me wants to sand them out, or fill them so they will be smooth. I have a hard time letting that go... ::dang::

Whoa, that is super cool! Given that the pattern number starts with a 3, I assume it originally may have had celluloid scales and am glad to see it to see it didn't get the usual "outgassing" damage. Where does one obtain blue mammoth anyway? ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::
