information

Post by widomkr68 »

I have been collecting knives for about 25 yrs. and have decided to put the majority up for sale. Since the shutdown I have had the time to go online and try to find the value of the knives I have. Most I can find some I cant, and when I could find them, the value or selling price wasnt listed. I tried to be very selective in what I bought and except for one I did a good job. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanx ::shrug:: ::shrug::

Hi and welcome! ::handshake::

The first piece of help I can offer is to request you post pictures and descriptions.
Close ups, especially of the tang stamps, will go a long way in knife ID and value determination.
Hard to work with just a statement, "what's my knife worth?"

Hope you get the info you need! :)
Take care and God bless,

Maybe you’ve already done so, but the best advice I can give you regarding establishing value for any knife is to do an advanced search on eBay for sold listings of the same item, or as similar to it as you can find. Be sure to limit your search to sold listings - that will find actual sales of the item if there have been any. In most cases, unless you have an unusual or rare knife you will find one or more that have been sold on eBay.

Of course you’re always welcome to show the knife here and ask, especially so if you’ve already looked on eBay and couldn’t find anything like it. We all like looking at knives here! :lol:

Hello and Welcome to the AAPK! ::handshake:: You have come to the right place. Lot of really good people here. I'm sure that once you figure out how the picture posting works you'll get the help you need. A lot of the guys here also buy & sell knives. Even whole collections. Not me though. I'm broke. ::shrug:: I just talk a lot. :mrgreen: Anyways, glad you came. ::tu:: ::super_happy::

Here's an example of doing a "Completed Listing" search in eBay for a Bulldog pearl Congress knife.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=bu ... &LH_Sold=1

Hope this helps you in determining what your knives might sell for and ::welcome:: to AAPK.

Go to the ebay page, type in the Knife description, then click on "advanced" search on the right side of the page, then under search, click on "sold listings", all the knives sold will come up with a green color price, that is what they sold for. If the price has a line though it, they took a best offer, and that price won't be listed. hope that helps, Terry
