Ka bar stamp identification

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Ka bar stamp identification

Post by Gone2Three »

Morning friends,
I'm having difficulty determining the date period of the knife I'm getting. Anyone know right offhand?
Thanks in advance!

Circa 1952-1968. Maybe a little later. Cole National bought KA-BAR circa 1966 and Cole began putting model numbers on blades but nobody knows exactly what year they began the model number stamping and or if they began with some models and took time to do all models.
