TTD,
You can just send me a private message here, by clicking the bottom of this post, if you like. I wasn't offering the Swamp Rat for sale or anything, just making conversation, as there are appropriate forums to do that here at AAPK.

Those are some nice fixed blades fellows. Here is one of mine. I am fairly new to knife making, but love the fixed blades and about got my forge finished. I am anxious to try my hand at making cable Damascus. In the mean time has anyone seen a real good video on flat grinding & hollow grinding? This is the 4th knife I made. Learning everyday. Later, Fred.

I traded the kurki for a NIB Bark river north star & swamp rat howling rat razorback.....well after fondling the swamp rat ,I decided to move it along and keep the Barkies,so I traded the swamp rat for a Scrap yard Dumpster Mutt LE ...there in transit as I type... the howling rat just did nothing for me as I am not a big fan of serrations no matter where they are on the blade.

Nice looking knife Fred. I can't say enough for my working knives to have a nice place to put my thumb for extra dexterity. I look for that feature in the knives I use.fdh54turkeyshooter wrote:Those are some nice fixed blades fellows. Here is one of mine. Meanwhile, I can direct you to a website that sells Flat Grinding by Harvey Dean and Hollow Grinding by Johnny Stout. I think you will see a lot of DVD's that you will desire as well as a list of some that are upcoming. I really enjoy Chuck Burrows Sheath Making and his Holster DVD also contains ideas that can be directly to sheaths. You can always rent these through smart flicks before you decide to buy.
Main page http://www.ccinstructionalvideos.com
To the DVD's you are looking for: http://www.ccinstructionalvideos.com/videos.htm
There is also a rental site called smartflicks but I think the investment in a DVD is worthwhile.

First Knife
Thanks for the compliment Hukk, I will check out the videos. Thanks Again for the help. Here is one of my first full tangs. The blade came out of Spain.
The handle is Polyester Pearl. My wife is getting jealous of my time in the shop, but at least I'm at home! Later, Fred
