Big A** blades...or more than you usually will ever need.....
Doing some re-shooting of knives and updating my document file. Did these last night so I thought I would post them up seeing as how the TV has gone football crazy for the day(and probably for another week re-hashing it).
I guess most of these would be loosely classified as,"bowies" or "bowie hunters". I usually use the criteria that a blade has to be at least eight inches in length and "usually" have a clip point with a false edge(sharp or not)at least 2-3 inches long. Of course the exceptions would be spear points and large double edged daggers.
The knives shown will have blades ranging from 8 inches to about 14 1/2 inches in length. Some are factory knives and others hand made. Some are old and some are of fairly recent manufacture. Most are of reasonably good quality and a couple are works of art. Most are impractical to carry;at least in this day and age.The one that does feel comfortable is the first one I ever acquired:a gift from a good friend whose brother got it in Germany when he was in the Army.Stamped R.J.Richter it features a handle that is bent slightly outward at the guard and keeping it from digging into your side while it is on your belt.
There are a couple of so-called,"theatre" knives that likely were made during the war. They came out of a rather substantial military collection a friend of mine purchased and then sold me what he didn't want.
Anyway this is probably going to take a few posts so please bear with me and feel free to post any that you may have.

Nice knives guys!
Here are some BIG Bokers that I have.

A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

I think the only one I have that qualifies is this Mexican Bowie style that was a throw in with another knife I bought on an estate sale. It looks to be a similar style to the the knife in photo 4 post 2.
The knife is right at 12in overall with a 7 1/2in blade
