i would like to reach out to the larger general group for a post , I tried the subgroup WANTED but have had no luck . I have an interest in owning a knife stamped by the Akron Cutlery Co
References will tell you it existed around 1900
Please look through your collections and consider selling me a sample from the mid- west company. It is silly to want to fill what I perceive as holes in what I have collected but such is my mind.
Thank you

Re: Akron cutlery co
I have no idea if such a knife exists. I think Akron Cutlery Co. was a manufacturer of industrial blades for heavy duty shears.
I do, however, have a niggling recollection in my head of a small four blade lobster gentlemen's knife marked "Akron". It wasn't a high dollar knife.
Maybe someone here knows more than I and can answer more definitively.

Re: Akron cutlery co
Goins lists Akron Cutlery Co and Akron Cutlery Works, Akron, OH as circa 1911-1928. He also shows a wood scaled 3&3/4" single blade jack with the latter (Works) mark so there must be pocket knives with their name on them although the knives may have been contracted for from other firms. I think you are asking in a good place but it will likely be a very hard mark to find. There is also a Blade forum where you could also ask, and there are some dealers who may know of one.

We’ve talked, I told him I didn’t want to sell. Yes there are knives stamped Akron Cutlery Works Akron O , don’t know who made it.
Could be Challenge, but I haven’t looked closely.

Just want to bring this back to the top of a conversation JUST in case a new member has one. Also I cannot find any google entry for a local Akron knife club. Any ideas ?
