CRKT knives. Opinions please.

I've got a single blade Zytel handled knife made by them....actually made in Taiwan....that I keep in my EDC rotation. It's small, about 3" closed and light as a feather. Sometimes, I actually forget I've got it in my pocket. It's a lockback with a semi-drop point blade. It holds an edge very well and for the money, it's a great little knife. The blade is a gray color looking somewhat like it's been Parkerized. I was just wondering if any of you guys also have or carry one and your opinion of them. I realize it's not on par with a S&M, Queen or some of the more expensive knives....but?

i have a small fixed blade one with a lanyard in the handle...
best Taiwan knife I ever bought, got 2 different carry options with the sheath. great $12 knife.....Hawk something..

My brother in Oregon has a connection where he gets them at 25 cents on the dollar or LESS. I forget the exact details, but at that price, it just doesn't pay for him to buy anything else.

CRKT knives, in my opinion, are well made and of inovative design. I have a very positive feeling about them. I usually keep one or two in my display group for shows. They are not big sellers for me. They seem to be under-appreciated, again IMO.

I have a #2000, Sawtooth which is the biggest & best quality under $20 knife I have ever seen. 11-1/2" overall, a great bar of steel. A knife made to take the abuse, and if it breaks..........I am only out $19.97.....I love it!

I also have EDCed their M16-13Z & Desert Cruser. I love them both. The Desert Cruser has one of the most comfortable handles I have seen on a large folder, but is a bit heavy to EDC. I have to be wearing coveralls.

I really like the M16 as well. Big enough to get the job done, small enough to be a comfortably EDC.

If CRKT consistently used better steel they'd be great.

Of course, then they wouldn't be so inexpensive, so what are you going to do.

I have a Crawford-Kaspar folder of theirs. Its got a small finish issue and the steel is awful (420J2).

But the design is great!

Its close to a really nice user knife. As it is, it is a OK user knife.

CRKT knives catch my eye now and then but in my line off work a CASE CV RAZ seems to be treating me well for daily use. I did carry a Kershaw leek which is close to the stlye of CRKT knives but the point on the kershaw is dangerous and of no need for daily use. Also the lock blade and assisted opening get the evil eye from non knife holders. Traditional folders are less intimidating, for the anti-knife folks

which make smaller Case knive perfect for me.

I carry an M-16 with a 4" blade, an Allan Eleshiwitz(?) Bronze and a 1st production of the Rollock. I love them all. I don't think the steel is inferior, even if it's 420J2. I work with all types of die steel, and I can tell you that I would rather have a 420J2 that won't break if pinched, than a D2 or A2 blade that can break and is much harder to sharpen

Little to big for my needs day to day. Even my fixed blades are less than 3.5 inches use them when I'm in the woods.
