Something a bit different........

A series of knife/fork/spoon picnic kits.I just won another one on e-Bay and started re-cataloging some of my older ones.Hope you enjoy these.

The first is a knife/spoon combination made by Camillus I believe for inclusion in Red Cross kits during WWI.This one has never been used and does not come apart like most combination knives.

The second is a pair of knife/fork picnic kits by Edward Wusthof.One has ivory inserts and the other pearl.I won one set on e-Bay and the person who had them said they had another set I could have for the same price.

Next is a Hubertus take apart knife.In order to separate them,you have to open the fork to about a 45 degree angle and then slide the two halves apart.

Next is kind of an oddball.It is made of a single piece of wood with slots cut into it for the blades and a brass sleeve on either end acting as reinforcement.The unusual part is the fork is twisted 90 degrees so it lays flat against the housing.There is some lettering on the blade but it is not completely legible.

Next is a cute little set made in Germany and in a case marked MV Bluenose which I assume was a souvenir of the Motor Vessel(ship)of that name.The handles are a bit discolored from sitting in the sun.

Last is an unmarked set of knife and fork encased in a small glass cup(for drinking I assume which is then housed in a leather pouch.Probably German.

Some more:

This set is unusual in that the knife is in the shape of a kitchen or butter knife and the fork and spoon can be locked into the other handle as well as a can opener.There is a pouch for these not shown.

Next is a nice little knife and fork set with abalone handles made by Salm.They did a lot of abalone handled folders as well.

Next are two more pairs of unmarked knife/fork combinations;one with plastic handles and the other nickel silver.

The last is another unmarked set that is housed in an aluminum cup which is then set in a leather pouch.Again probably German.
