Excellent customer service from Boker USA

Post by dewman »

A few weeks back, I bought a Boker Tree Brand Whittler (Off E-Bay) with the "new" washboard pattern scales. A really nice looking knife. I own several Bokers of German manufacture and all have been top quality, but this one has some "issues" with the master blade. It's a real thumb nail buster when trying to open it and it has absolutely no spring action when opening. You actually have to push very hard to get it to open completely. I tried a couple of drops of oil and sat in front of the TV one night and opened and closed it a couple of hundred times until my wife insisted I "Put that thing away!" My efforts were for naught. I contacted the seller and they offered to replace it. I sent it back, but the knife I received the second time was the same one, only drenched in oil and STILL had the same problems. So, I contacted Boker USA in Lakewood, Colorado and talked to a guy named Terry in their repair department. He told me he'd be glad to fix the knife if I'd send it to him.
A very pleasant man. He even apologized for the trouble I was having with my Boker knife. It's good customer relations like this that will keep Boker in good stead with me. More to follow AFTER they return the repaired knife. Sorry to be so long-winded, but I thought the story was worth passing along.

By the way, the photo has "Digital Freaks" logo in it. I didn't buy my knife from them....their photo was just better than my seller's.

I'm glad you included that, I have never had a problem with digital freaks, even though the name is a bit odd for knives.

Good luck, sounds like they will do you right, unlike some.

Nice looking knife. I like that 'washboard', I like it a lot.

I've had a dealing with Terry before. An excellent representative of Boker.
