Russian Noks Poacher

Just bought one of the sturdiest folding tactical knife I have ever held in my hand. Extremely impressed with this knife and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Its a Russian made knife by brand name of Noxs....model poacher. The locking mechanism is huge along with the blade thisckness ..I cant imagine the force required to break this locking mechanism over and believe it would be the king of any other folder as far as strength.....any comments?

As for your knife, maybe Eustace will see this and have some information on it. He lives in Bulgaria and is very familiar with the Eastern European knives.

Looks like it was made for export, because some of the blade etch is in English.

There are some high end ($800 -$1000) tactical type folders coming out of Russia now as well as an assortment of much less expensive knives.
Your knife is truly 'built like a tank'. I'm sure it is as strong as a fixed blade when open.
There are other important factors that you will discover after using it a number of times: is the edge sharp ? does it hold the sharp edge through quite a lot of use ? and, is it difficult to re-sharpen ?
It needs a sheath or a pack to carry it. Too heavy for most pockets. A canvas work jacket with big patch pockets could give a comfortable carry.
To answer your actual question: never seen this name or knife before.
Hence by the knife lovers creed, you are now responsible for using it ++ and reporting back here in 2 weeks time with description of how it performed, drawbacks, etc. Hard core knifers post pics as well.
Thank you for showing us this rather unique knife. I suggest it's English name be "The Tank".
