Looks like a profile of Zachary Taylor.There were quite a few knives made with his likeness on the bolsters.Could have been from a bowie or possibly a large folding knife.1840's era maybe.

Being there were quite a few of thes knives made can someone show me one. i'd sure like to see it . I found this base in British Columbia. Bob
