For some of you who like research and are from the west coast question: do you know this company? I aquired several old (1900 - 1930) knife blades a couple of years ago and this was one of the blades. Sorry, very bad scan of the tang but the tang stamp is: W. F. SHEARD, TOCOMA WASH.

sold supplies in wa. to fur traders, skinners, etc. found reference he sold guns with his name on as well. had them made for sale in his outfitters stores. also had store in montana.

Thanks for the info. Do you know when the company was in operation? Have you seen any pf their folders?

don't know the years he opperated. he also invented a front sight for rifles. still diggin.
