Nail nick and shield differance in some XX ?

Post by cbnutt »

Trying to learn all I can about differences in the 18 pattern Case XX stockmans , I noticed some have the nail nick farther back to the end than others , (clip) the ones I have with the nick closer to the bolster end also have a larger shield than the ones that don't , and they appear to be more of a regular clip blade than the Turkish clip ,is this pretty well normal of that era ? I mistakenly posted this in the case classic forum , if a mod will delete it there please . Thanks . ::tu::

I think it may be due to normal periodic tooling changes, but to be clear I'm really not sure what you're talking about. Some pictures of examples might help.
