How do you date a "Case Select"

I have a Case Peanut which I am not sure how to date. The fact it has the "USA" stamp on it is a clue in a way, but not the 65-69 era "USA" deal I guess. Along with the "long pull" I think both are just additions they added for the "Select" knives is my suspicion.

This "USA" stamping info could be cleared up for me a little more as well if someone has time to fill me in with help on that.

This nice little addtion to my Peanut Collection(in my oppinion LOL) Im speaking about is....

Hi Hawke,

I don't know much about the select knives, but I don't think they have a formal dating system.... The only thing to go off of is the stamps / shield variations etc... I would guess that Case keeps record of what stamps were used when. I would email a picture of the tang to Case's historian...

I've read that the U.S.A. was added to Case knives in 1965 to clarify that they were in fact manufactured here in the United States because rumors were stirring that Case XX knives were being manufactured in Germany.
