Celluloid decomposing solution?
I saw this auction on ebay, and would like to hear others comments on this. I'm very sceptical of any cure for celluloid gassing. I've always heard there is no way to stop gassing. Check this out. http://cgi.ebay.com/CELLUSEAL-TREATMENT ... dZViewItem

It would be nice if it worked.
I would rather buy some of the solution & try it myself.......................but that is just me.

I guess I would like to hear a plausible theory about how and why this works before I try it out. Is it a a simple thing that works merely because a chemical nuetralizes or prevents the offending gasses from occurring or does it work because because of a molecular bond in which more atomically stable comounds attach themselves to a less stable material such as the cellulose nitrate.
Be nice to know how it works. If something goes wrong and causes destabilization, it may be much easier to fix. Be nice if they told how it worked vs. "It Just Does".

ESPECIALLY at $14.95 PER KNIFE!!!
You have to send the knife out and back, heck on priority mail that's $4.60 + $14.95, so it will cost $19.55. I hate to say it but a 3 inch piece of pearl can be found for $25.00.
I think I would do the pearl myself rather than buy this, depending on the knife, the pearl may bring an extra $30.00.
Price needs to come down first, it's priced for high end knives now.
