This month's knife giveaway reminds me of the reasons I love this hobby so much.
AAPK received this stunning 1983 Schrade Heritage with instruction to give it away as an anonymous donation in remembrance of Mr. William McLeod (a.k.a. Willie Mac or WmMac) who passed away suddenly August 17.
As I understand it, Mr. McLeod was retired USN, generous knife collector, and an all around good guy. Just two days prior to his passing, he purchased a 1983 Heritage Large stockman online after viewing some nice Schrade knives posted on another forum. Unfortunately, it is unlikely he ever saw that knife in his own hands.
In remembrance of him, this 1983 Schrade Heritage is being given away hear on his behalf.
It seems fitting that this knife is offered during the month of Thanksgiving.
Let us never take things for granted and let us always be thankful for all of our blessings.
After viewing this knife, I can understand how the Heritage series would be a hard one to pass up
