Anyone know anything about a 53047 Case XX U.S.A "10 do

Post by Case_Study »

Hey all- I'm a new member- I really appreciate all of the knowledge sharing on the site and forums. Wondering if there are any Case gurus out there who can help me ID a knife- I have a 53047 Case XX U.S.A "10 dot" 3 blade stag handle pocket knife (I think it's also called a Stockman). One blade says "for flesh only". I am using the C. Houston Price guide 14th Ed.- the only reference I can find for this knife is page 245 in the "Other knives" section, which does not show dates/style/dots etc. (shows the price of $1800 ?!, but again, no year so who knows). Google turned up a couple of eBay sellers who have this knife, but they are from 1940 and one from 1955-1965. I searched this site and the forums and didn't come up with a 10 dot- I did find this pic though:

Any idea why info is so hard to find? Any idea of the possible value? Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Case Study and welcome to the forum! The knife in question (10 dot 1970 53047) books presently at 300.00 in Tony Fosters and Parker's price guide. The section you looked at in Huston's guide is a price for one made prior to 1920, it is very rare.

The 53047 usually brings a bit more than a 5347 just because you don't see as many. Also, a moderator might want to move this thread to the "Knife Questions" forum, it would fit better there.
